Ferrari SF-26: the new single-seater for the 2026 F1 season presented

Ferrari f1- 2026 nuova

Scuderia Ferrari HP has officially presented the SF-26, the single-seater with which the Maranello team will face the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship, starting on March 8 in Australia. The presentation took place at the Fiorano circuit, the symbolic theater of the Prancing Horse’s great debuts.

Ferrari SF-26: a new technical era begins for the Scuderia

The SF-26 is the seventy-second Formula 1 single-seater built by Ferrari and represents much more than a new car: it opens a completely unprecedented regulatory cycle, destined to profoundly redefine the top category of motorsport. The new regulation introduces lighter cars, a radical rethinking of aerodynamic concepts, and a new generation of hybrid power units.

The birth of the SF-26 took place in a context of totally renewed technical rules, which required a complete overhaul of the single-seater’s architecture. The chassis abandons ground effect, a pillar of previous generations, in favor of a different aerodynamic approach, characterized by cleaner lines and a design philosophy oriented towards weight reduction and overall efficiency.

The revolution is also profound on the engine front. The 2026 regulation introduces a new hybrid power unit, which includes the elimination of the MGU-H and an MGU-K boosted up to 350 kW, significantly strengthening the role of the electric component. A change that required a completely new design approach and an even closer integration between chassis and power unit, a key element of the SF-26.

Livery and Design: a return to the past in the name of Niki Lauda

Thanks to the new regulations, the SF-26 features a more rational and compact line, with proportions that convey lightness and agility. The car is the result of work based on functional simplicity, with the aim of creating a solid but highly developable platform throughout the season, as the data collected on track guides technical evolution.

Great attention also to visual identity. The 2026 livery connects the past, present, and future of Scuderia Ferrari HP, marking the entry into the new technical cycle through a strong element of continuity, but also of transformation. Among the most significant details is the return to glossy paint, after seven seasons of matte finish.

The 2026 Rosso Scuderia is brighter and more intense, inspired in its design by the special livery introduced at Monza in 2025 and in continuity with the red used at the turn of the millennium. A color that strongly reaffirms passion, courage, and identity, founding values of the Ferrari brand.

Alongside the red, white takes on an unprecedented role. Historically present in a limited way on Ferrari Formula 1 cars, it is now placed in the cockpit area and on the engine cover, creating a sharp and balanced visual contrast that strengthens the car’s recognizability. Red and white thus dialogue between tradition and the future, synthesizing the continuous evolution of the Prancing Horse’s identity.

F1 2026 Testing: the debut program between Barcelona and Bahrain

With the start of testing, Scuderia Ferrari HP enters the crucial phase of understanding the car on track. The program includes a collective shakedown in Barcelona next week, followed by two test sessions in Bahrain.

In a totally new technical context for all teams, the Ferrari approach will remain faithful to its philosophy: methodical work, attention to detail, and rigorous data analysis, with the aim of building a solid and controlled progression throughout the 2026 season.
