The Miami GP is held at the Miami International Autodrome, a street circuit built around the iconic Hard Rock Stadium, better known as the home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Added to the Formula 1 calendar starting in 2022, this track brings the top motorsport category to the heart of Florida, offering a unique combination of sport, entertainment, and American lifestyle. The Miami GP represents the fourth round of the 2026 calendar and will take place on the weekend of May 3rd, promising strong emotions on one of the most scenic and media-heavy stages of the entire championship.

Characteristics of the Miami circuit in Florida

The Miami track measures 5.412 km and features 19 corners, alternating high-speed sections with technical and slow sections. Although it is a temporary circuit, designed to fit the layout of the sports complex, it offers wide spaces and several overtaking points, often making the races unpredictable. Long straights are interrupted by tight chicanes and right-angle corners, which put brakes and traction to the test, especially in the final stages of the race.

One of the most iconic sections is the long back straight that ends with heavy braking at Turn 17, a perfect spot to attempt an overtake. The sector between Turn 11 and Turn 16 is particularly technical, where the cars must face a narrow and winding sequence that highlights agility and precision. The relatively new asphalt tends to improve lap after lap, influencing strategy and setups.

In 2022, the first edition saw Max Verstappen prevail over Charles Leclerc after a decisive comeback, taking advantage of better tire management and the straight-line superiority of his car. The duel between Red Bull and Ferrari was repeated in 2023, but once again it was the Dutch champion who came out on top, demonstrating great consistency even in traffic and tire degradation conditions.
