Most members attended the meeting in person, while some connected remotely. Among these, the introduction of the <strong>mandatory two-stop strategy at the Monaco Grand Prix<\/strong> stands out, a measure designed to make the Principality race more dynamic from a strategic point of view, limiting races blocked by a single stop. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another point addressed concerns <strong>extreme weather conditions<\/strong> &#8211; as seen in appointments in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, or as they will also be in Singapore, known for its formidable humidity &#8211; particularly the use of <strong>cooling vests<\/strong> in pre-race. Rules will be introduced that allow managing exceptional situations while ensuring fairness between teams. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the problem that emerged during the recent <strong>Japanese Grand Prix<\/strong> was discussed, where sparks from the car floors caused small fires in the grass at the sides of the track. To prevent similar episodes, the use of a <em><strong>skid plate<\/strong><\/em> <strong>made of steel instead of titanium<\/strong> will be evaluated, as well as specific treatments for the grassy areas of some circuits. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"F1_2026_Technical_Regulations_Power_Unit_Issue_Remains_Open_Mercedes_Opposes_Changes\"><\/span>F1 2026 Technical Regulations: Power Unit Issue Remains Open, Mercedes Opposes Changes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most anticipated topic of the meeting concerned the <strong>management of the power unit planned for 2026<\/strong>. The FIA presented a proposal to modify the currently in force regulations, which provide for a <g id=\"gid_1\">50\/50 split between electric and internal combustion power<\/g>. According to the proposal put forward by the Federation&#8217;s technical department, the aim would be to <strong>reduce the power delivered by the battery from 350 kW to 200 kW<\/strong>, shifting the balance in favor of the internal combustion engine, in a <strong>65\/35<\/strong> ratio.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1-390x220.jpg 390w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/power-unit-f1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The 2026 Power Unit will probably have a 65\/35 ratio in favor of the internal combustion part<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The modification stems from the desire to make 2026 cars more manageable in races, correcting potential technical issues related to excessive dependence on the electric component. The idea has received <g id=\"gid_0\">support from some manufacturers<\/g>, but has been <g id=\"gid_1\">fiercely opposed by Mercedes<\/g>, which has always been against any modification of already approved regulations. The German manufacturer has reiterated that only concrete evidence of technical or sporting problems could justify a change of course.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The FIA, in an official statement, explained that <em>&#8220;the Commission discussed in principle improvements to the energy management strategy for the 2026 season, as well as measures to address the financial issues that power unit manufacturers might encounter in case of poor performance or significant reliability problems&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"470\" src=\"https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Monoposto-F1-2026.jpg\" alt=\"F1 car cost\" class=\"wp-image-119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Monoposto-F1-2026.jpg 780w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Monoposto-F1-2026-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/f1.newsauto.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Monoposto-F1-2026-768x463.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">No definitive decision yet taken for the Power Units of 2026 cars<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the measures under study is also the possibility of <strong>granting additional dyno testing hours<\/strong> to manufacturers who demonstrate difficulties in terms of performance or reliability, accompanying such tests with a <strong>supplementary budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the extensive discussion, no definitive decision was taken.
