Cadillac Ferrari Test | Perez completes a total of 447 km at Imola
The technical collaboration between the two companies accelerates: Cadillac staff refine procedures with Ferrari technicians, while the Mexican impresses with a convincing 1'17"27 on hard tires.

The technical collaboration between Cadillac and Ferrari takes a new step forward. At the Imola circuit, the American brand concluded an intense update session dedicated to their mechanics, directly supported by Ferrari personnel thanks to the partnership related to the Power Unit supply. A valuable opportunity, utilized by both parties to refine procedures and working methods ahead of Cadillac’s entry into Formula 1.
Cadillac and Perez on Track at Imola under Ferrari’s Guidance
Coordinating the two days of testing were not the usual heads of the American team: team principal Graeme Lowdon and team manager Peter Crolla had returned to England the previous evening. Operational command thus passed to Xavi Marcos, head of engineers and a familiar face at Ferrari for being Charles Leclerc’s track engineer.
On the mechanics’ front, supervision was reportedly entrusted to Alessandro Fusaro, current chief mechanic of the Monegasque driver. The atmosphere in the pits appeared relaxed and collaborative. Cadillac and Ferrari technicians worked side by side in great harmony, turning the day into a real professional exchange.
Pérez Hungry for Track Time: 447 Km and an Encouraging Pace
On track, Sergio Pérez continued his program at the wheel of the total black Ferrari SF-23. The Mexican covered 447 km, equivalent to 91 laps, pushing from the first runs despite the particularly cold asphalt.
The main novelty of the day was a 24-lap long run, completed with remarkable consistency: average pace of 1:22.476, always on hard tires, the only compound used over the two days.
The best overall time was a convincing 1’17″27. Considering the conditions (hard compound and about 18°C ambient temperature), it’s hard not to read this as a signal: Pérez seems to want to prove, first and foremost to himself, that he still has a lot to offer after the complicated experience at Red Bull.
As stated by Graeme Lowdon, the project is perfectly in line with the program: fire-up scheduled for December and track debut of the first Cadillac single-seater set for January.
