Red Bull has unveiled the presentation date for the 2026 car. Next year, indeed, one of the greatest technical revolutions in recent championship history will take shape, with the new regulations marking the beginning of a new era for cars and Power Units. A change that for Red Bull will be even more symbolic, as it will coincide with the debut of the first hybrid unit developed internally together with Ford, ready to bring its name back to the World Championship after over twenty years of absence.
Red Bull 2026 Presentation Date
With the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship almost over, the paddock’s gaze is already turned to the future. 2026 will indeed mark the beginning of a new technical era for the category, destined to completely reshape the top series landscape. New regulations, new challenges, and a renewed focus on hybrid technologies will lead to a real turning point for teams and manufacturers.
Among the most anticipated teams in this revolution is Red Bull, ready to turn the page after the Honda era. In Milton Keynes, the development of the first Power Unit made internally is underway, the result of collaboration between Red Bull Powertrains and Ford, which will particularly handle the electric component thanks to its expertise in the sector. The agreement marks the official return of the American brand to Formula 1 and opens a new chapter for both entities.
To celebrate the start of this new cycle, Red Bull will present the new 2026 livery on January 15 in Detroit, a symbolic city for the automotive industry and Ford’s historic headquarters. The event, dedicated to the sports and technological projects of the American brand, will also see the participation of the Racing Bulls, which will use the same RBPT Power Unit.
In Detroit, the final car will not be shown, but rather a showcar with the colors that will dress the future vehicle. A similar approach was already adopted in 2022, while waiting to unveil the model compliant with technical regulations.
“The start of the Red Bull Ford Powertrains era represents a decisive step towards the future,” explained Laurent Mekies, team principal of Racing Bulls. “It is the result of years of joint work between two reference names in motorsport, united by the same passion and the desire to innovate.”
Enthusiasm shared also by Jim Farley, president of Ford Motor Company, who emphasized how the commitment in Formula 1 represents “much more than a sporting challenge.” “Our goal,” he said, “is to transfer what we learn on the track to production cars, making them more efficient and sustainable. With Red Bull, we are building the foundations of technologies that will define the future of automotive.”
